Scott Crocker fished alone and won all of the big money in the Father’s Day Open at Klinger Lake Sunday.
Crocker had 10.16 pounds and the biggest bass, a 2.52-pound largemouth. Crocker fished soft plastics and topwaters in shallow water and said he upgraded on his last cast of the day.
There were 19 teams participating and 14 weighed in limits.

Dan Posey and Roy Marchant weighed in 8.82 pounds for second. Posey and Marchant used tubes and jigs in 10 feet.

Scott Smith and Gary Butcher were third with 8.44 pounds. They used Butchers Baits Stick Worms and drop-shot rigs in several depths of the lake.

The father son team of Brent and Jake Burguess were fourth with 8.26 pounds. Burguesses used jigs and topwaters in 10 feet.

Another father/son team, Mike and Caleb VanderReyden fished jigs in 8 feet to catch with 8.10 and finish fifth.
MFL Report

A quality bass helped Shawn McDougal and Christopher Stamm Sr. win the Michiana Fishing League tourney at Donnell Lake.
The winners had 10.68 pounds, but 4.68 pounds was in one fish and that earned them big bass honors as well.
They said they fished drop-shot rigs on ledges along with crankbaits and topwater water lures on the sides of piers and points.

John Davis and Seth Spaulding were second with 8.34 pounds and also took the critter pot with a 1.92-pound Bullhead. They fished poppers around docks in the morning and drop-shot rigs in deeper water later in the day.

CJ Stamm and Michael Smith were third with 7.28 pounds caught on docks. They caught fish on drop shots, frogs and poppers.
SMAC Report

Brent and Brayden Burgess captured the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club (SMAC) Tuesday night tournament on Eagle Lake (Cass County).
The Burgesses had a limit weighing 9.08 pounds by fishing tubes and jigs in eight feet of water.

Second went to Terry Smith and Scott Crocker with an 8.52-pound limit. They fished grubs and topwaters.

Zack McNary and Chris Shires were third with 8.26 pounds. They fished topwaters and jerkbaits.
There were 69 bass carried to the scales and three were smallmouth.
D&R Sports Report

Norman Greene and Nate Fredrickson won the D&R Sports Center Grand River Tournament last weekend.
Greene and Fredrickson had 18 pounds, topped by a 4.09-pound largemouth.
No details of how the fish were caught were provided.

Dustin Daggett and Carlos Vergara were second with 16.25 pounds.

Trevor and Stephanie Bethke finished third 15.82 pounds and also had big bass of the tournament, a 5.07 pounder.
Fourth went to - Dave and Dan Slager with 13.37 pounds and their biggest bass, a 3.31, broke a two-way tie.

Jeff Elliot and Trevor Young also had 13.37 pounds, but their biggest bass weighed 3.08 giving the Slagers a slight edge and the fourth place money.
Stars and Stripes Report

T.J. And Todd Winkler won the Stars and Stripes tournament on Gull Lake over the weekend with 17.66 pounds.
“We caught the majority of our fish on a Strike king Coffee Tube in green pumpkin,” said the Winklers. “The remaining fish were caught on a 5-inch" Yamamoto Senko in green pumpkin/watermelon laminate color. The key was fishing super slow and knowing the key areas to fish.”

Second place finishers Bill Mathews and Kris Iodice had 17.22 pounds by targeting fry guarders in 10 feet of water.
“The BAFA jig and a Strike King Dream Shot were the keys to catching our bigger fish,” said Mathews.
Joey Kogut and Braiden Arnett were a close third with 17.11 pounds.
Big bass honors went to Jesse Richardson and Kadin Wogomon and it weighed 3.92 pounds. They were fishing weed edges with jigs and caught a limit of 16.33 pounds.
