Berkley Report
Both the PowerBait Bonefish and Curly Bones are designed with a heavy ribbed body and super thin tails to give a lifelike swimming action with little effort at slower speeds. The baitfish-like head design fits perfectly on Berkley Fusion19 Jigheads and excels when fished on a weighted swimbait hook or used on a dropshot rig.
The PowerBait Bonefish features a super thin paddle-style swimbait tail for erratic swimming action with minimal effort. The Curly Bones offers fish a different look with a vertically oriented thin ribbon tail and an activation tip to grab water and never stop moving, especially at slower speeds in cold water. Available in 12 walleye specific colors, the suggested retail on each is $5.99.

Berkley PowerStinger
Berkley’s newest PowerBait soft plastic, the PowerStinger, is a straight tailed minnow-style bladed jig trailer.
Featuring new, patent pending “honeycomb” technology, the PowerBait PowerStinger offers additional swimming action when paired with a bladed jig that triggers fish to bite. The PowerStinger has a thick baitfish profile and a dense head that is durable and prevents tearing. A perfect match with the new Berkley Slobberknocker, the PowerBait PowerStinger is available in both 3.5-inch and 4.25-inch, with 12 standard colors and 4 HD colors to match any hatch.
They were expected on tackle shelves in September, 2022.
StrikeMaster Report
StrikeMaster Lithium 40v Lite Electric Auger
The new StrikeMaster Lithium 40v Lite Electric Auger punches above its weight. Weighing in at just 21 pounds when paired with an 8-inch-diameter Lite-Flite Lazer Drill unit, it can cut as many as 100 holes through 16 inches of ice on a single charge. It crushes the performance of standard cordless drills.
The 10-inch-diameter drill can consistently cut as many as 70 holes through 16 inches of ice on a single charge.
“Light to carry with heavy punching power – that’s a great one-two combo for drill-and-drop ice-trollers like me,” said Minnesota fishing guide Tony Roach, an ice-trolling innovator.
Rapala Report
Rapala balsa bait -- the OG Rocco 5
Fresh from the wood shavings and sawdust of Ott DeFoe’s Garage, comes a new Rapala balsa bait -- the OG Rocco 5.
A big-body, square-bill crankbait, the OG Rocco 5 is built to burn through heavy cover and trigger bites from big, burly bass and other gamefish.
“You’re able to fish it faster in those heavy-cover areas,” said DeFoe, a Rapala Pro, Bassmaster Classic Champion and winner of 11 other top-tier Bassmaster and Major League Fishing (MLF) tournaments. “You can burn it and trigger a reaction bite.”
Integrating DeFoe’s exacting design specs and Rapala’s engineering expertise, the OG Rocco 5 deflects off cover and recovers better than any other square-bill that DeFoe has ever banged off wood or rock in his storied career.
The OG Rocco 5’s size, balsa-wood engineering and construction all contribute to its superior, bite-triggering deflection ability.
“It’s a pretty good-size hunk of balsa, and the more you’ve got there, the more buoyancy you’re going to have,” DeFoe explains. “So, when you reel it down into a crack in a laydown, or a piece of rock, or something like that, you can stop it, and that bait has enough buoyancy to back out of a lot of those situations, so you can keep your retrieve going.”
