Nine months after two cougar kittens were documented in the Upper Peninsula, a new trail camera photo indicates the elusive animals are still alive and living with their mother.
Bass pros fish for a living. What could be better, right? Sit down with a professional angler at a  boat show, and it comes out that they do enjoy their gig, mainly because they genuinely love to fish. One perk of the job is that the tournament season doesn’t run all year long, so they do have a true offseason.
The popularity of leader material grew exponentially after the dawn of braided fishing lines, aka superlines. Despite their prowess, these incredibly strong-for-their-diameter braids presented two significant drawbacks.
Editor's Note: In this video, it is stated that Lake Conroe has not seen a Texas Share Lunker (over 13 pounds) since 2009. That fact was incorrect, as pointed out to us by local angler Billy Smith Jr. There was a 13-pound, 14-ounce largemouth caught by David Perciful in a three hour, three fish Tuesday Night tournament on April 7, 2015. The Bass Reporters were unaware of this fish until Mr. Smith brought it to our attention.
B.A.S.S. ReportersIn the days of ESPN’s ownership of B.A.S.S., Steve Price and Ken Duke established a podcast called The B.A.S.S. Reporters, a show offering meaningful analysis on the sport of bass fishing from the journalists who lived and covered it. The show featured two of the most prominent and knowledgeable professionals to ever cover the sport. In 2009, they added fellow B.A.S.S. Senior Writer Louie Stout during Bassmaster Classic coverage, and the year after that, they added Dan O’Sullivan to the mix for the following two Bassmaster Classics before ESPN sold the company and the show did not continue.
Now, six years later – We’re Gettin’ the Band Back Together – The Bass Reporters makes its triumphant return to the airwaves with its 2017 Bassmaster Classic preview, and all four of the previous participants will be involved going forward. This episode explores the 2017 Bassmaster Classic at Lake Conroe, and each of the veteran reporters shares their thoughts in the process.
Look for frequent entries during the 2017 Bassmaster Classic starting with Media Day from Houston’s Minute Maid Park, followed by Post Game Wrap up videos after daily weigh-ins.
