Rick Kediks 8th annual Bassmaster Classic Party at Beef OBradys in Granger will be held Feb. 22 and the public is invited.
The get-together is open to anyone who would like to watch live viewing of the final Bassmaster Classic weigh-in. The Classic is held on Lake Hartwell, S.C. Feb. 20-22.
Although the ESPN TV production wont be viewed until later, Beef OBradys will livestream the online production in a banquet room that has two large screen TVs. The restaurant will supply free chips and salsa.
In addition, Clear H2o will be on hand displaying the latest in Michiana bass tackle and anglers are encouraged to bring tackle to sell or swap. Tournament groups will be passing out fliers for contests slated for this year. For more information, call Kedik at 269-240-4917.
Clear H2o Tackle near Edwardsburg will conduct an ice fishing derby Feb. 15 on Stone Lake at Cassopolis.
Entry fee is $10 and cash prizes will be offered in three divisions for the longest bluegill/sunfish, crappie or perch. A video of the event will be produced and posted on youtube. Registration begins at the DNR access site at 7 a.m. and fish will be measured until noon. For more information, call John Gipson, 269-362-4670.
Clear H2o Tackle has announced it will conduct a bass tournament on Eagle and Juno lakes July 26.
Although the tournament is still months away, early indications are that it will fill up quickly due to the format. Tournament organizers will limit 20 boats on Eagle and 20 on the Juno Chain. Teams must register for a specific body of water in advance to secure a spot on that lake.
Entry fee is $80 per team with a 10-place payback assuming the field is full. First-place will be worth $750 with descending pay to $100 for 10th. The big bass pot will pay two prizes, $225 and $175 (second big bass). Tournament hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Michigan DNR strongly encourages bass tournament organizers to use its Michigan Fishing Tournament Information System (www.mcgi.state.mi.us/fishingtournaments), a web application designed to allow bass tournament directors to schedule events at DNR access sites and to report their catch results online.
The web applicationwill beavailable beginning Jan. 1 for tournament directors to use for scheduling their 2015 tournaments. This application gives tournament directors the ability to view other bass tournaments scheduled on a selected waterbody, so they can plan appropriately.

Topping the 113-angler field is Greg Hackney of Gonzales, La., who won the 2014 A.R.E. Truck Caps Bassmaster Elite Series event on New Yorkís Cayuga Lake en route to capturing the 2014 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year title. The remainder of last yearís Top 5 points earners is also returning with four-time B.A.S.S. tournament winner Todd Faircloth of Jasper, Texas; three-time winner Jacob Powroznik of Port Haywood, Va.; six-time winner Aaron Martens of Leeds, Ala.; and five-time winner Mark Davis of Mount Ida, Ark.
There will be 13 newcomers to the Elite Series field, including Mishawaka native Koby Kreiger, who won five FLW events and pocketed $1.4 million while fishing FLW events.
