Jason Dittmar (North Liberty) and Tad Helper (Niles) won the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club event on Diamond Lake with 11.07 pounds.

The winners ($405), who also won big bass honors with a 3.70-pound largemouth, said they used jigs.

Justin Hahaj (Bridgman, Mich.) and Mike Reppette (Benton Harbor) were second ($190) with a limit weighing 10.87 pounds fooled with drop-shot rigs and Poorboys Jigs.


Winners Tonkel and HoyerWinners Tonkel and HoyerBud Tonkel (Ashley, Ind.) and Quinn Hoyer (Angola, Ind.) outdueled 52 other teams to win the R&B Circuit tourney on the Randall Chain in Coldwater, Mich.

The winners had a 14.69-pound limit, including a 5.31 beast that earned them the Money Mouth Baits Big Bass prize and a $1,225 total payoff for their dayís work. They caught all of their keepers from one small weed bed in a 40-minute span.


Calling all high school fishing teams! It's time for coaches to register their fishing team for the second annual Berkley High Challenge.

The Berkley High contest offers numerous unique fishing related opportunities with chances to win prizes, new product samples and finally the grand prize.


Brian Whitaker (Warsaw) and Chip Harrison (Columbia City) won the Hoosier Pro event on Lake Wawasee recently with 15.81 pounds.

The winners caught their fish on Poor Boy jigs and darters on the outside of the weeds to pocket $1,126.

Daniel Milligan (Bremen) and Kris Shipley (Warsaw) won $688 for second with 14.26 pounds caught on jigs on the inside of the weeds in 4 to 8 feet.

Jim Betts (Fort Wayne) and Robert Hayes (Angola) were third ($421) with 10.08 pounds, all caught on tubes on the flats in shallow water.

Big Bass for the tournament ($220) was a 4.93-pound Largemouth caught by Richard DeLagrane (Warsaw) and Don Whitaker (Warsaw).


Danny Linn (South Bend) and Adam Crocker (Edwardsburg) had a five-bass limit of 10.89 pounds to win the Southwest Michigan Anglers Association (SMAC) Wednesday nighter on Magician Lake.

They also won the big bass prize with a 2.77 pound largemouth. They used drop-shot and crankbaits on a 12-foot deep drop-off.

Scott Crocker and Rick Kedik (Niles) were second with 10.39 pounds caught on drop-shot rigs and Bigsnack Jigs in 11-14 feet of water.

Dan Posey (Niles) and Jeff Bostic (South Bend) were third with 9.87 pounds. They also fished drop-shots and jigs.
