Ron Fabiszak and Jim Meadows (Mishawaka) won the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club event on Lake of the Woods near Decatur, Mich. recently.
The winners had five bass weighing 8.47 pounds caught on jigs.
Jason Horvath and Chris Leach (Mishawaka) were second with 7.27 pounds caught on Poor Boys Jigs while Craig Parmlee (Marcellus, Mich.) fished alone and brought in 5.86 pounds, caught on drop-shot rigs in 12 to 18 feet. Don Rank and Todd Qualls (Elkhart) won big bass honors with a 2.16-pound largemouth caught on a worm using a Rank rig.

Rick Kedik (Niles) fished alone had 15.95 pounds, including big bass (4.59-pound smallmouth) caught on Poor Boyss Tubes. Al Shinabargar and Paul Grafton (Valparaiso, Ind.) was third with 3 pounds caught on tubes and crankbaits.
MS Outdoors will sponsor a three-event tourney series that kicks off Aug. 26 at Diamond Lake.
Other events are Sept. 16 at Barron Lake near Niles and Oct. 7 on the St. Joseph River at Benton Harbor (DNR launch near the high school). A classic will be held Oct. 21 at a site to be announced.
Entry fee is $60, to include big bass pot, and only cash will be accepted at the ramp. Tournament hours are 7:30 to 2:30.
The Barron Lake event is limited to the first 10 boats to register at MS Outdoors in Niles but the other two have no field limits.

Jerry and Doug Roher (South Bend) won the Michiana Anglers Tournament Series event on Big Cedar Lake near Marcellus recently with a limit weighing 11.60 pounds.
The winners also won big bass honors with a 3.83-pound largemouth.
Roger Chris (Elkhart) and Don Miles (South Bend) were second with 8.43 pounds. Most of the fish caught in the event were taken on jigs and soft plastic baits. The next event is at Paw Paw Aug. 11, 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Edwardsburg anglers Mickey Thomas and Dave Clark captured the 27th annual Lunkers Tournament on Eagle and Juno lakes last weekend.
The local anglers caught 12.22 pounds from Eagle while fishing jigs along the inside edge of weed lines. They won $1,600.
