Apparently, Klinger Lake bass don’t care if the surface temperature is 82 degrees. They still tucked under docks during the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club tourney on the lake Saturday.
Billy Mathews and Luke Jasper - 1st Place
Billy Mathews and Luke Jasper proved that with the winning weight of 15.28 pounds that included big bass of the event with a 3.74-pound largemouth. They said they fished jigs in 2 to 5 feet.
Gary Butcher and Scott Smith - 2nd Place
Gary Butcher and Scott Smith used the same pattern to catch 13.50 for second place.
Steve Martin and John Dixon - 3rd Place
Ditto for Steve Martin and John Dixon, although they said they caught their fish in 2 to 20 feet on wacky worms and jigs to finish third.
Ryan Campbell and Mike Williams were fourth with 10.82 pounds, Terry Smith and Scott Crocker fifth with 10.31 pounds and TJ Reed and Ben Harrison sixth with 9.95 pounds.

There were 92 bass weighed in and 11 were smallmouth. The weighin totaled 179.94 pounds.

Gary Butcher and Scott Smith - 1st Place
Gary Butcher and Scott Smith won the Butchers Baits Sunday League recently on Union Lake.
The winners had 12.08 pounds caught on topwater lures and Butchers Baits stick baits.
Adam Boden and Caleb Drum - 2nd Place
Adam Boden and Caleb Drum finished second with 11.04 pounds while using jigs.
Martin Hochstetler and Jonas Troyer - 3rd Place
Martin Hochstetler and Jonas Troyer were third with 10.10 pounds and had big bass with a 4.07 pounder, all caught using stick baits.

John Miller and Robbie Gibson - 1st Place
John Miller and Robbie Gibson fished weedlines with jigs to win the Arjay’s Wednesday nighter at Portage Lake last week that saw 20 teams bring in limits.
The winners had five bass weighing 10.70 pounds.
Hunter and Justin Kosmerick - 2nd Place
Hunter and Justin Kosmerick just missed winning again. They had a limit weighing 10.48 pounds. They also fished weedlines with jigs.
Jared Yoder - 3rd Place
Jared Yoder fished solo to catch five for 9.44 pounds by fishing shallow weeds with wacky rigs.
Josh Roberts and Steve Martin - 4th Place
Josh Roberts and Steve Martin were fourth with an 8.96-pound limit, caught on weed edges with wacky rigs and frogs.
Dakota Neff and Elliott Rains - 5th Place
Dakota Neff and Elliott Rains grabbed the fifth spot with 8.72 pounds. They fished weedlines with swim baits.
Tim and Daisy Tucker - 6th Place
The ClearH2O Tackle first out of the money spot (6th) was won by Tim and Daisy Tucker with a limit weighing 8.48 pounds caught by worming shallow weeds.
Noah Chambers - 7th Place
The Michiana Outdoors News tackle pack for seventh was won by Noah Chambers fishing alone. He had four for 8.26 pounds, but also won the Tackle Shack LLC big bass pot with a 3.90 pound largemouth. He fished wacky rigs in shallow weeds.

Major League Fishing (MLF) announced Friday the 2025 Tackle Warehouse Invitationals schedule, highlighted by the addition of a no-entry-fee championship featuring a $135,000 top award and a REDCREST 2026 berth for the winner.
The 2025 Tackle Warehouse Invitationals will showcase 150 pros competing across six regular-season stops for a season-long purse of more than $4.3 million and valuable points to qualify for the new Tackle Warehouse Invitationals Championship and ultimately an invitation to compete on the 2026 Bass Pro Tour.
Each Invitational will feature anglers competing over three days in a five-fish, weigh-in format for a top award of up to $115,000. The top pro from the point standings at the end of the season will win the Fishing Clash Angler of the Year title and $50,000, while the top five pros qualify for the 2026 Bass Pro Tour and the top 50 pros advance to the new Tackle Warehouse Invitationals Championship.
“We at Tackle Warehouse are very excited about the addition of a championship event for the 2025 Tackle Warehouse Invitationals. It’s a great goal and incentive for Invitationals anglers to work towards all year, and really completes the TWI circuit,” said Tackle Warehouse’s Joey Reggio. “We can't wait to join with MLF in crowning the winner of the very first Tackle Warehouse Invitationals Championship in 2025.”
Casting Couples Report
John and Heather Miller - 1st Place
John and Heather Miller beat out 16 other teams in the Casting Couples Tournament held on a beautiful day at Klinger Lake Saturday.
The Millers had five keeper bass totaling 10.52 pounds to win $330. That also had the second biggest bass of the day with a 2.59 pounder to go home with Butchers Baits tackle packs. The couple used tubes and drop shots in 12 feet.
Loren and Carrie Crosbie - 2nd Place
Loren and Carrie Crosbie had five keeper bass totaling 9.60 pounds, to earn $200. The Crosbies used tubes in 20 feet of water.
Ryan and Alyssa Yoder - 3rd Place
Ryan and Alyssa Yoder were third ($110) with 9.11 pounds. The Yoders used jigs in 12-20 feet.
Austin and Cierra Smith - 4th Place and Big Bass
Austin and Cierra Smith had the hat trick trifecta with fourth place ($80), big bass of the day ($80), and they won the 50/50drawing worth $50. The Smith's had 8.91 pounds and their big bass was 3.93 pounds. They used topwaters and drop-shot rigs.
