Gary Butcher and Scott Smith - 1st Place
Gary Butcher and Scott Smith won the Butcher Baits Sunday League event last weekend on Coldwater Lake.
Butcher and Smith used topwaters and stick baits to catch 14.41 pounds. Their catch included big bass of the event, a largemouth weighing 3.31 pounds. Butcher said the morning bite was on for this team, as they had their limit in the first 30 minutes of the tournament.
Oak Everitt and Eric Thurston - 2nd Place
Oak Everitt and Eric Thurston finished second with 10.16 pounds caught on stick baits.
Kent Dowden - 3rd Place
Kent Dowden fished alone and finished third with 9.69 pounds. He said he caught his fish using stick baits and ribbon-tail worms.

John and Ashley Miller - 1st Place
John and Ashley Miller won the Arjay’s Wednesday nighter at Lake Templene on a night when 22 teams competed and 12 limits were weighed in.
The Millers had 11.28 pounds caught on bladed jigs.
Jared Yoder and Bryce MacMillan - 2nd Place
Jared Yoder and Bryce MacMillan fished the surface with frogs to finish second with 9.82 pounds.
Justin and Hunter Kosmerick had 9.50 pounds for third. They caught their fish on finesse worms and jigs.
Justin and Hunter Kosmerick - 3rd Place
Fourth place went to Jake Otto and Aaron Winans with 9.28 pounds caught on spinnerbaits while Ray Lohr and Charlie Fouts were fifth with 9.24 pounds caught with spinnerbaits.

Casting Couples Report
Scott and LeeAnn Sizemore (Angola) - 1st Place
Scott and LeeAnn Sizemore (Angola) squeaked by with a win over the nine other boats in the Casting Couples Open at Lake St. Clair last weekend.
The wind blew hard out of the north on practice day but moved to the south during competition making it a little easier to get around. All 10 teams weighed in a limit.
The Sizemores had 17.25 pounds caught on jigs in 6 to 10 feet of water which earned them $400. They also had the second biggest bass ($50) weighing 4.34 pounds that was caught on a topwater.

Jordan Smith's Son
Tournament bass fishermen are good about coming together to help out a fellow angler in need.
That’s why a group is rallying around fellow angler Jordan Smith whose new-born son came several weeks early. Smith's son has been hospitalized in Indianapolis with heart complications for more than a week and will likely be there much longer.
A benefit tournament will be held July 8 at Diamond Lake from 6 a.m. to noon and registration begins at 4:30 a.m. Entry fee is $100 and 50 percent of the proceeds will go straight to the family. There also will be a $10 big bass pot and $5 biggest rock bass pot. Payouts will go to the top three and there will be a 50/50 drawing. Hotdogs will be available after the weigh-in. Donations will be accepted.
In addition there will be drawings for several tackle prizes including a $160 hand-painted Floyd Wolkins swimbait.
Tournament organizers Izaak Wetzel (269-625-6482) and Cody Brown (269-689-5588) urge teams to contact one of them in advance to confirm your participation so they can get a handle on number of contestants. It is hoped that the tournament will draw a big turnout and raise a lot of money for a young family that is going through some really difficult times.

Skyler Traver and Drake Nevins drop-shotted their way to a Southwest Michigan Anglers Club win Saturday at Magician Lake.
The winners fished 10 to 20 feet of water to catch 10.83 pounds and pocket $330.
