Beef O’Brady Restaurant in Granger will host its fifth annual Bassmaster Classic Party March 26th beginning at 5 p.m.
The Classic’s final day live weigh-in will be streamed from the internet onto two 50-inch flat screen TVs in the party room.
There is no charge and it’s open to families and individual anglers.
Tournament directors will be passing out their schedules and local anglers will be bringing in tackle items for sale or trade. Anglers are encouraged to bring in photos of their trophy catches to be posted on Beef’s Hall of Fame.
In addition to free snacks for early arrivals, door prizes will be made available.
Mark Zona will appear at the D&R Sports Center during “Tournament Takeover Day” at the Kalamazoo store March 4.
The unique event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event invites bass tournament circuits into the store and share their dates and information with store visitors. It’s a chance for bass anglers to learn more about the circuits.

2018 Bassmaster Classic Headed Back to Hartwell
Some lakes are known for how deep they are.
Some are known for the type of structure and baitfish they have.
Others are known for serving as the sites of some of the greatest moments in professional bass fishing history - and one of those from that latter column has been chosen as the home of next year's GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by DICK'S Sporting Goods.

BASS Returning to Mille Lacs for Championship
After a very exciting finish to the 2016 season on Minnesota's famed Mille Lacs Lake, the 2017 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship will return to the world-class smallmouth bass factory, Sept. 14-17.
Earning a spot in this season-ending derby is no easy accomplishment. Participation is based upon performance ó specifically, the number of AOY points earned across the entire Bassmaster Elite Series season. With a $1 million purse on the line, the championship will not be won by the angler who weighs the largest limit of bass; rather, the top angler in AOY standings following the tournament will be awarded the $100,000 paycheck and title.
The decision to return to the stateís second largest inland lake of 10,000 was easy after the unprecedented output in 2016. Across the three competition days, the Top 50 anglers caught 729 bass, which produced 139 limits and amassed a total three-day weight of 2,878 pounds, 5 ounces.
Michiana Outdoors News welcomes submissions of fishing tournament schedules and results from tournament organizers. It’s a great way to build event participation and gain exposure for your event.
Send your tournament information as a Microsoft Word Document and photos in .jpg format to stoutoutdoors@comcast.net. We cannot work from facebook links - we need your tournament information emailed!
The Events Calendar powered by Lake Drive Marine is one of our most popular features and can be found on every page of Michiana Outdoors News. It will be managed by Jeremy Bunnell, a friend of the website and Michiana tournament angler.
We are primarily interested in events held in northern Indiana and southern Michigan although we will include tournaments scheduled outside that region if the circuit is based in northern Indiana/southern Michigan. Tournaments/circuits must be open to the public.
Schedules for the Events Calendar must include dates, entry fees, tournament hours, name/phone number of a tournament director contact, and ramp location (oftentimes a lake has more than one). We also include tournament logos for those circuits that include those in their submissions.
Although it’s not required to get your events on the calendar, we’d like for tournament directors to submit results to us following each event. It definitely draws more interest in your events. Results should provide winners’ correctly spelled names, hometowns, weights and lures and/or patterns used. Include the top three finishers. Result submissions that only have names will be rejected.
And finally, submissions with digital photos often get better play on the site and attract the most attention. Identifications of those persons pictured are required.
