Mill Pond in Dowagiac is full of carp and other rough fish, so bow fishermen are urged to participate in an overnight contest to help reduce the population.
The event begins at dusk April 21 and runs until dawn the next morning. There will be a meeting of contestants 30 minutes prior to takeoff.
Entry fee is $30 per boat (up to 3 people in the boat). The boat team that fishes entirely with bows and has the highest weight at the end will get a prize. Further payout will be determined by number of entries.

Farver and Kline Win Again
Mark Farver (Goshen) and Steve Kline (Albion) won their second consecutive R&B Circuit Open Tournament, taking last weekendÃs event on Lake Manitou.
The duo, who won the previous R&B Open on Wawasee the week prior, caught an 11.68-pound limit to whip a field of 38 teams and pocket $600.
After struggling for two hours, they came across clear water and saw a dead shad floating. They instinctively threw a swimbait and caught a dozen keepers in a 50-foot stretch.
Pat Cox (Macy, Ind.) and Jim Hippensteel (Rochester) pieced together an 11.64-pound limit by
working jerkbaits and jigs between 12-14 feet of water to finish second ($400).

Farver/Kline Jig Their Way to R&B Win on Wawasee
Mark Farver (Goshen) and Steve Kline (Albion) beat 48 teams with their 12.11-pound limit to claim $620 in the R&B Circuit opener on Lake Wawasee recently. They were just 1 of 6 teams to weigh a five- fish limit.
The previous day they had located two schools of fish in 8-10 feet of water. Their three biggest bass fell victim to jigs while their two smaller keepers bit Erie Darters.
Michiana superstars Greg Mangus (Fremont) and Kevin Fletcher (Elkhart) were the only other team to seize a double digit weight, 10.60 pounds, and were awarded $370 for their efforts.Â
The team caught a whopping 20 keepers! Fish were caught in water 4-6 feet deep on Mango Magic colored Erie Darters. Several areas produced, but the best had a gradual slope with deeper water nearby.
Darwin "Bear" Griva (Angola) and Mike Klavinski (Hudson) put together an 8.98-pound limit to win $275. Despite water temperature in the low 40's, they employed traditional pre-spawn baits - lipless crankbaits and jigs in water less than five feet deep to rack up 12 keepers.
