Fabiszak with two dandiesRon Fabiszak (South Bend) and Ron Nelson (Berrien Springs) caught 15.31 pounds of smallmouth on Muskegon Lake to win $1,540 in the R&B Circuit Classic.
They focused on two areas and caught all but one fish on a white Strike King Sexy Dawg. Their biggest fish of the day, a 3.98-pound smallie, fell victim to a C Flash squarebill crankbait in the bluegill color scheme.
Mitch Bair (Columbia City) and Scott Sizemore (Albion) ran to White Lake and boated a solid limit with a Strike King Swim Jig they fished in 8-10 feet of water. They finished their day on Muskegon Lake where they were able to cull two more times with the same bait. Their best five (all largemouth) weighed 15.28 pounds, good for second place ($823).
Trevor Paulus (Osceola) and Brad Sterling (Bremen) boated 14.69 pounds of both largemouth and smallmouth from Muskegon Lake to finish third ($658). They threw green pumpkin Berkley Powerbait worms on a 3/16-ounce shaky head.
The Money Mouth Baits Big Bass was caught by Steve Januchowski (Michigan City) on Bair Lake. The 4.58-pound bass ate a Senko off of a point and earned him $270.

MUSKEGON, Mich. Take 14 of the best and most popular Bassmaster Elite Series pros of 2013 and challenge them to catch bass from lakes most of them have never seen, let alone competed on, and what happens?
Its pure fun. Its the Evan Williams Bourbon Championship, and its happening Sept. 27-29 during Toyota All-Star Week in Muskegon, Mich.
The Elite pros will go head-to-head in a $100,000 competition. At the same time, eight college student anglers will compete for a coveted 2014 Bassmaster Classic berth in the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Classic Bracket. A Sept. 29 Folds of Honor Foundation Pro-Am, presented by ARE, will pair Elite pros with veterans and guests of Folds of Honor.
Fans not only can enjoy the daily takeoffs and weigh-ins, they will be treated to the Bassmaster Elite Series Expo as well as the music, activities and food at the Family Fun Fall Festival organized by the local host, the Muskegon County Convention and Visitors Bureau (www.visitmuskegon.org/).
Dan Milligan (Bremen) and Kris Shipley (Syracuse) won the Hoosier Pro event on Wawasee last week with 14.49 pounds despite experiencing mechanical issues early in the morning.
They won $280 by using power fishing tactics on Syracuse Lake.
Phillip Duracz (Chesterton) and Steve Coleman (Whiting, Ind.) were second ($168) with 13.19 by fishing docks with grubs and wacky worms.
Rick Rogers (Warsaw) and Dan ONeil (Ft. Wayne) were third ($112) with four fish weighing 11.91 pounds, to include the big bass of the tournament, a 4.55-pound largemouth. They fished tubes and beavers on the flats.
There were 41 bass weighed in for a total of 92.18 pounds.
Mike Smoker (Elkhart) and Jeff Burkett (Osceola) captured the River Wednesday Classic on Austin Lake recently.
The winners ($900) had five fish weighing 14.43 pounds that included a 4.54-pounder that earned them big bass prize ($250). They caught their fish on spinnerbaits and tubes.
Kris Thornton (Osceola) and Chuck Lee (South Bend) were second ($650) with a 12.16-pound limit caught on a popper and Ds Tubes.
Teddy Bradley and Tom Bell (Mishawaka) had a limit weighing 8.69 pounds for third place ($500), also caught on poppers and Ds Tubes.
The Cass Bass Club annual Fall Open will be held Sept. 28 on Diamond Lake near Cassopolis.
Entry fee is $80 (includes big bass) and tournament hours are 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Only cash will be accepted for late entries.
