Kent Dowden - 1st Place
Not only did Kent Dowden sack up a big bag at Lake Templene, but he topped it with a 5.92-pound largemouth to win the Tackle Shack Open last weekend.
Templene’s bass were biting, as it took more than 10 pounds to finish in the top 10 on a lake that has been pretty stingy this season. All 25 teams caught five-fish limits.
Dowden got most of his 14.60-pound limit on a Mann’s Baby 1 Minus crankbait and a 10-inch worm with a ¼-ounce weight.
Randy Walls and Mark Flotow - 2nd Place
Randy Walls and Mark Flotow finished second with five weighing 14.54 pounds. They used Senkos and jigs in 2 feet of water or less.
SMAC Report
Jason Dittmar and Dave Eggers won the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club (SMAC) event on Magician Lake last week.
Dittmar and Eggers had five bass weighing 9.24 pounds and also had big bass with a 2.68-pound largemouth. They fished grubs and drop-shot rigs in 20 feet to catch the winning bag of fish. The big bass was caught on a tube jig.
Derek Kelly and Seth Spaulding were second with five weighing 8.32 pounds. They used drop-shot rigs in 30-35 feet of water to catch their fish.
Third went to Terry Smith and Scott Crocker with a 7.63-pound limit. They caught their fish on crankbaits in 8-10 feet.
There were14 teams participating and only 6 limits were weighed in. There were 36 fish brought to the scales weighing 56.61 pounds.

R&B Report
John Gipson and Kris Iodice - 1st Place
Kris Iodice and John Gipson won the R&B Circuit tournament on the St. Joseph River at Maggie’s landing recently.
Iodice and Gipson had 13.28 pounds that included big bass of the event, a 3.82-pound largemouth. They fished jigs and topwater along weed lines and laydowns.
Ron Fabizak and Kevin Fletcher were second with 8.82 pounds while Nate Bontrager and Jason Hellmuth third with 6 pounds.

Casting Couples Report
John and Marcy Dixon (Elkhart) - 1st Place
John and Marcy Dixon (Elkhart) had five keeper bass totaling 10.83 pounds to win the Casting Couples tournament on the Randle Chain last weekend.
The Dixons also had the big bass of the day, a 3.34-pound largemouth. They used Beavers in shallow water to take home $210, plus another $55 for BigBass prize.
Jim and Merle Hobbs (LaPorte, IN.) - 2nd Place
Jim and Merle Hobbs (LaPorte, IN.) were second with five totaling 7.37 pounds. Hobbs used Senkos and Ned rigs to catch their fish and earn $110.
Steve and Amy Martin (Mottville) - 3rd Place
Steve and Amy Martin (Mottville) finished third with five weighing 7.23 pounds caught on jigs and tubes. They won $60.

John Federnok and Mike Haas - 1st Place
John Federnok and Mike Haas teamed up to win the Little Money Bass Tournament on the St. Joseph River in Constantine, Mich. recently.
The team had 12 pounds, 7 ounces, caught shallow on frogs.
Cameron and Jeff Crussemeyer - 2nd Place
Cameron and Jeff Crussemeyer were second with 8-1 caught shallow on Jigs and Ned rigs while Doug Roher and Jerry Roher were third with 7-2. They also fished shallow.
Cayden and Daren Mast - Big Bass
Big bass prize went to Cayden and Daren Mast with a 3-14.
