Noe/Gipson Dominate Pipestone Event with 21-9 LimitNoe/Gipson Dominate Pipestone Event with 21-9 Limit

John Gipson (Battle Ground, Ind.) and Tom Noe (Benton Harbor, Mich.) completely dominated the Big Bass Challenge at Pipestone Lake last weekend with a limit weighing 21 pounds, 9 ounces.

They were the only team with a limit and said they caught over 30 keepers. They fished jigs, frogs and soft plastics in pads and weed edges from 2 to 10 feet. They won $280 for first and the big bass money ($85) with a 5.95-pound largemouth.

The winners ($330) had 11.57 pounds caught on drop-shot rigs and flick shakes in 10-13 feet of water.


SMAC Report

Al Gearhart and Mike Heberling won the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club tournament last weekend on Klinger Lake.

Twenty teams competed and 14 limits were weighed in that included 24 smallmouth bass.

The winners had five bass, including four smallmouth, that weighed 9.94 pounds caught on drop shots.

Tom Law and Sky Baker had five bass weighing 8.98 pounds with drop shots for second while Rick Kedik and Scott Crocker were third with 8.86 pounds, caught on jigs.

Jim Meadows and Jody Murphy had a limit weighing 8.72 pounds for fourth. They also won the big bass pot with 2.84 pounds. They also fished jigs.

The next tournament is a weeknight, July 31st, on Diamond.


Casting Couples Report

Brian and Renee Hensley had a limit of five bass totaling 9.51 pounds to win the Casting Couples tournament on Fish Lake near Marcellus, Mich.

The winners ($290) used Yamamoto grubs in 15-feet of water and Spro frogs in the lily pads to catch their limit.

Bryce and Hillary Stewart (Hillsdale, Mich.) was the only team that had a limit of five keeper bass to win the Casting Couples tournament on Randall Chain July 1.

The winners ($280) had 8.85 pounds caught up the creek on Centipedes.

Jake and Stephanie Lisenko (South Bend) had four keeper bass totaling 6.95 pounds to finish second ($150). They used Stephanie's favorite secret color on wacky worms in 8-12 foot range. They also had second big bass of the day with a 3.21-pound largemouth to take home Money Mouth baits.

John and Zoee Dixon (Elkhart) had four keepers totaling 6.37 pounds to finish third ($110). They used Senko†baits.
